Ann Westerheim has had a long and varied career in the tech industry. Ann began their career in 2001 as the Founder & President of Ekaru, a company that provides IT services and cybersecurity to small businesses in the Boston area. In 2009, they joined the Screening Committee for the $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Prize. In 2015, they became a Board Member of the Middlesex County Robotics Club, an organization that supports FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Lego League Teams. In 2018, they joined the Board of the MIT Alumni Association's Annual Fund. In 2019, they became a Member of InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector for the protection of U.S. Critical Infrastructure. In 2020, they joined ConnectWise's Advisory Council. In 2022, they joined CompTIA's ISAO Executive Steering Committee and became a Partner Advisory Council Member for ScalePad and a Member of the Forbes Technology Council. Ann has also been a Board Member of the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce since 2004.
Ann Westerheim attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1992, where they obtained their S.B, S.M., and PhD in Engineering. In 1989, they attended the University of Oslo (UiO) for an International Summer School in Norwegian Language and Literature.
