Cigdem Askin

Cigdem Askin is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in education and entrepreneurship. Currently, Cigdem serves as the owner of Pastry Bites, specializing in authentic homemade baklava since November 2021. In parallel, Cigdem has been a Teacher Associate at Buckeye Union School District since August 2004, where significant contributions include coordinating the Annual Multicultural Program and assisting in classroom instructional activities. Additional roles include Guest Advocate at Target and Enumerator for the U.S. Census Bureau, with prior experience as a Substitute Instructional Assistant and Lead Teacher in various educational settings. Cigdem co-founded the Sacramento Chapter of the Turkish American Association of California, organizing cultural events to enrich the community. With a BA in Child Development from California State University-Sacramento and several other educational credentials, Cigdem brings a strong foundation in child development and community engagement.
