Associate Director, Partnerships at EL Education

Cheryl Twyman's work experience began in 1991 as a Math Teacher/Drop Out Prevention Teacher at St. Johns County District Schools. Cheryl then became a Teacher at Dekalb County Schools in 1997. In 1998, they joined Atlanta Public Schools as a Teacher and stayed until 2002. At Atlanta Public Schools, Cheryl held various roles including MOVE-IT Math Consultant, Model Teacher Leader, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Principal Mentor. Cheryl also served as the Director of Professional Learning from 2017 to 2021. In 2021, Cheryl Twyman joined EL Education, Inc. as the Associate Director of Partnerships.

Cheryl Twyman has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Education from Clark Atlanta University, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990. Cheryl further pursued their education and received a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University between 2002 and 2004. Later on, they enrolled at Georgia State University in 2005 and 2006 to pursue Leadership Certification. Lastly, Cheryl completed their Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Mercer University - Tift College of Education from 2015 to 2018.
