John Russell

John Russell has a diverse work experience in the education and research field. John currently works at EL Education as the Director of Internal Research, where they lead research initiatives, provides data support, and contributes to the design of research studies, products, and pilots. Prior to this, they served as an Associate Director of Quantitative Analysis at EL Education. John also has experience working at the American Museum of Natural History as an Adjunct Professor in Space Sciences. John was a Senior Education Researcher and Research Associate at Math for America, where they developed professional learning opportunities and built partnerships with institutions and individuals in New York City. John has also worked at the National Science Teachers Association as an NGSS@NSTA Curator and at the NYC Department of Education as a Teacher. Additionally, they have held roles at Relay Graduate School of Education and Teach For America. Overall, John's work experience demonstrates their expertise in education research, professional development, and curriculum design.

John Russell holds multiple degrees and certifications in the field of education. John completed their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Science Teacher Education/General Science Teacher Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, from 2011 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Science Teacher Education/General Science Teacher Education from Pace University, which they completed from 2005 to 2007. John received their Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating in 2004. In addition to their academic achievements, John also obtained two certifications: a Project Management Certificate from Google and an Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator certification from IBM in 2022.
