Shanta Lightfoot is the Managing Director of District Partnerships at EL Education. Prior to their current position, they served as a Senior Administrator for Middle School ELA and Social Studies at Wake County Public School System, a Coordinating Teacher for Middle School English Language Arts at Wake County Schools, and a Middle School ELA and Social Studies Teacher at Wake County Public School System.

Shanta has been working in education for over 10 years. Shanta is passionate about helping students reach their full potential and providing them with the best possible education. Shanta has dedicated their career to ensuring that all students have access to quality education and resources.

Shanta is a highly effective leader and educator. Shanta has a proven track record of success in improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness. Shanta is committed to equity and excellence in education and has the skills and experience to help EL Education reach its goals.

Shanta Lightfoot attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for their middle school education in leadership. Shanta then went on to North Carolina State University for their middle school education in English Language Arts/Social Studies. Shanta then attended graduate school at North Carolina State University in Curriculum Instruction and Developmental Supervision. After that, they attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington for administration in school administration. Finally, they attended East Carolina University for academically gifted students.

They work with Beth M. Miller - Chief Knowledge Officer, Lynnette Brent - Managing Director, Product, and Christina Riley - Senior Director, Curriculum Design. Shanta Lightfoot reports to Scott Hartl, President & CEO.
