Tarika Sullivan, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Starting in 2005, they worked as an Early Childhood Educator for Huntsville City Schools for a year before transitioning to Clayton County Public Schools, where they served as an Early Childhood Educator and EIP Teacher from 2006 to 2018. In 2018, they joined Atlanta Public Schools as an Instructional Literacy Coach for a year. In 2019, they began working at EL Education, first as a School Coach for School Partnerships and then as an Associate Director for Advancing Equity District Partnerships. As of 2020, they are also the Chief Executive Officer of Black Girl Magic Tours.
Tarika Sullivan, Ph.D., obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Oakwood University in 2004. Tarika then pursued their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Alabama A&M University Graduate School, which they completed in 2006. Tarika further continued their education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Teaching & Learning from Georgia State University in 2015.
