Ahsan Choudhuri

Ahsan Choudhuri serves as the Mr. and Mrs. MacIntosh Murchison Chair II in Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) since February 2001, contributing to the university's strategic vision for educational opportunities in the Paso Del Norte region. With a strong background in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Ahsan has secured over $42 million in external funding as a principal and co-principal investigator, while also driving initiatives as Associate Vice President of the Aerospace Center. Ahsan has been instrumental in establishing the NASA MIRO Center for Space Exploration Technology Research, focusing on innovative research in aerospace and energy engineering. During a tenure as Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2018, Ahsan enhanced the department’s national standing in education and research. Additionally, Ahsan has held various academic and research positions at several institutions, including the University of Oklahoma and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, and has a robust educational background with a PhD from the University of Oklahoma.
