Gillian Diesel currently serves as the Director of Pharmacovigilance for REMEA at Elanco, with previous roles as Pet Health Product Safety Manager and Vaccine Product Safety Manager in Global Pharmacovigilance. Prior to Elanco, Gillian worked at the Animal and Plant Health Agency as Veterinary Lead for the Small Animal Expert Group and held various positions at the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, including Head of the Pharmacovigilance Unit. Additionally, experience includes peer reviewing for the New Zealand Veterinary Journal and the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science, and working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Royal Veterinary College focusing on dog welfare projects. Early career roles include veterinary surgeon positions at Medivet Group Limited and Avondale Veterinary Practice. Educational credentials comprise a PhD and MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology from the Royal Veterinary College, along with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Zimbabwe and a PRINCE2 practitioner certification.
