Floris van Alkemade has a diverse work experience. In 2005, they co-founded Solid Ventures, an investment firm focusing on early-stage IT companies. As the Managing Partner, Floris provided strategic planning, recruitment, and business development support to these companies. In 2010, they became the Chairman of the Board at Coolgames, a gaming company. From 2013 onwards, Floris served as an advisor and investor for various companies, including AGCS Studios, &Wider, Slimmer AI, and Objectiv. In 2016, they joined Calefax Reed Quintet's board as a member. Floris van Alkemade holds a Master's degree in Econometrics/Operations research from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), where they studied from 1986 to 1993. Before that, they completed their secondary education at Barlaeus Gymnasium from 1981 to 1986. In 2018, Floris attended INSEAD for a program in Corporate governance called the IDP.
