Uday Zope has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Uday currently holds the position of Vice President Investment Banking- Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Sector at Elara Capital since April 2022. Prior to this, they served as AVP - Investment Banker I Pharma & Healthcare at Elara Capital from August 2018 to March 2022.
Before joining Elara Capital, Uday was a Principal and founding team member at Brightlight Consulting LLP, a growth and market value consulting firm. During their tenure from April 2017 to August 2018, their role focused on building client relationships and providing consulting advice to listed and to-be-listed emerging companies.
From January 2008 to April 2017, Uday worked as Vice President- Pharma & Healthcare M&A at Genesis Management Consultancy Services Private Limited. In this role, they advised firms in the pharmaceuticals sector on M&A and partnership opportunities, conducting in-depth industry, company, and product studies, deal sourcing, due diligence, valuation, and execution. Notably, they successfully advised Cosme Farma Limited on the sale of its business to Adcock Ingram, South Africa.
Uday's earlier experiences include roles as Assistant Vice President at Genesis Management Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd (October 2007 to December 2007), Senior Consultant at Cornerstone International Group - India (January 2007 to September 2007), and Equity Research Analyst- Pharma & Healthcare at Dolat Capital Market Private Ltd. (October 2005 to December 2006).
Uday began their career as a Product Executive at Mars Life Sciences Private Limited from September 2003 to September 2005 and then worked as a Business Executive at Dr Morepen NOW from February 2003 to August 2003. Uday also gained experience as a Territory Manager at Piramal Enterprises Limited from May 2001 to May 2002 and as a Marketing Intern at Abbott in April and May 1999.

Uday Zope has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields of study. Uday first attended Atomic Energy Central School from 1981 to 1994, where they obtained their XII Board degree with a focus on Science. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy Medicine at North Maharashtra University from 1994 to 1998. Uday then enrolled in a full-time course in Information Technology at Growel Softech Ltd in 2002, where they completed their SAP SD certification.
In 1999, Uday joined N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research, where they pursued a Master's degree in Marketing from 1999 to 2001. Continuing their education in the financial sector, Uday obtained the NCFM- Technical Analysis Module certification from the National Stock Exchange of India in 2015.
More recently, Uday attended the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) from 2019 to 2022, where they obtained the NISM series IX Merchant Banking Certification.
In addition to their formal education, Uday has also acquired the SEBI certified Investment Banker certification from SEBI in January 2023.
