Akbar Gumbira

Akbar Gumbira is a seasoned senior MLOps engineer currently working at Elastic since October 2025, following a tenure at THG where leadership of a team focused on building MLOps platforms and deploying machine learning services took place. Prior experiences include roles at Cookpad, where Akbar developed ML services for search enhancement and built recommendation systems, and at Bukalapak, where model development and deployment in AI research were emphasized. Educational background includes a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Computer Science from Warsaw University of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Informatics Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung. Akbar has also contributed to notable projects under various organizations, including Google and the Australia-Indonesia Facility for Disaster Reduction.
