Álvaro Lobato Moreno

Álvaro Lobato Moreno is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in observability solutions and software development. Currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering for the Observability Solution at Elastic since March 2018, Álvaro previously held roles as Senior Director and Director of Engineering in the same area. Prior to Elastic, Álvaro was the Software Engineering Manager at CloudBees and led the APM team. Álvaro also worked as the Head of Software Development and Integration at Abengoa, growing a team from inception to over 85 professionals, and implemented key methodologies such as Agile and TDD. Early in the career, Álvaro served as a Project Manager at Ingenia and Nortel Networks and worked as a freelance software developer. Academic credentials include a Master’s in Computer Software Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, supplemented by leadership and Scrum training.
