Han Xiao is an accomplished professional in the field of artificial intelligence and computer science. Currently serving as the Vice President of AI at Elastic since October 2025, Han previously founded and led Jina AI as CEO from February 2020 to October 2025. Prior experience includes a role as Director of Engineering at Tencent from January 2018 to February 2020, and serving as a Board Member of the LF AI & Data Foundation during the same period. Han's career also includes a position as Senior Research Scientist at Zalando SE from April 2014 to January 2018, and a Research Internship at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2008. Han's academic background features a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich, as well as experience as a Resident Researcher at National Taiwan University in 2013.
