Jhon Masschelein

Jhon Masschelein is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in solutions architecture and engineering, currently serving as a Principal Solutions Architect at Elastic since July 2019. Jhon has received several accolades, including the Elastic Club Award for Fiscal 24 and the Top Solution Architect for EMEA PubSec for fiscal year 2024. Jhon's expertise lies in helping Public Sector organizations in the Benelux improve their data processes for enhanced insight, efficiency, and security. Prior roles include Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, Solutions Engineer at Hortonworks, and Senior Systems Programmer at SURFsara. Additionally, Jhon co-hosts and produces the Roaring Elephant Podcast, focusing on Big Technology and Open Source. Jhon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Informatics from HOGENT and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Physics from The Open University, expected to complete in 2030.
