Rene van Haaster

Rene van Haaster is currently the Area Vice President for EMEA North at Elastic, overseeing organizations in the Benelux, France, Nordics, and Baltics, focusing on search-powered solutions and cybersecurity. Prior to this role, Rene held various leadership positions at Microsoft from February 2005 to January 2024, including Regional Executive Director for ISV Partner Sales in Western Europe, where strategic partnerships and growth acceleration for Independent Software Vendors were crucial. Other roles at Microsoft included Executive Director of Enterprise Solutions, Head of Delivery for Enterprise Services, and Sales Manager for both Public Sector and Unified Communications. Rene's earlier career includes positions as a Sales Executive at Xerox and TNO Automotive, demonstrating a strong background in sales and consultancy. Education includes a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and further studies at Nyenrode Business University.
