Julie Shiroishi has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Julie started their career as an Advertising Assistant/Copywriter at Little, Brown and Company in 1997. After that, they worked as an Advertising and Website Manager at Columbia University Press from 1998 to 1999. From 2000 to 2007, Julie held various roles at Penguin Group (USA), Viking/Penguin Books, starting as an Advertising and Promotions Manager and eventually becoming the Advertising and Promotions Director. In 2007, they became self-employed as a Freelance Writer, Editor, and Consultant. In 2018, they worked as an Administrative Coordinator at the Educational Foundation of America before joining Karen Smythe for NY Senate as a Campaign Manager from June 2020 to November 2020. Julie then served as the Chairperson of the Dutchess County Democratic Committee from January 2022 to September 2022. In 2022, they also ran as a candidate for NY Senate District 39 under Julie for NY. Julie's most recent role was as the Chief of Staff for the NY State Assembly, District 104 from January 2019 to September 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Executive Director at Eleanor's Legacy starting in October 2023.
