Khizir Mahmud

Khizir Mahmud, PhD, MIEAust, is an experienced Power Systems Engineer currently employed at ElectraNet Pty Ltd since May 2021, where responsibilities include conducting due diligence assessments for new load and generator connections and performing various impact assessments. Prior to this role, Khizir worked at Power and Water Corporation from June 2019 to May 2021, leading the development of an electricity dispatch engine and supporting machine learning projects related to power demand forecasting. A postdoctoral fellow at UNSW from March 2015 to July 2019, Khizir focused on research concerning virtual power plants and microgrids while supervising undergraduate and master's students. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical Engineering from UNSW, a Master’s from Northwestern Polytechnical University, and a Bachelor’s from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology.
