Damien Villeneuve

Damien VILLENEUVE is an accomplished professional in the field of welding and regulatory compliance, currently serving as Appui Technique Machines Statiques and Ingénieur Soudeur at EDF since September 2013. Damien is responsible for internal competency development related to the welding plan and leads the Welding Community of Practice. Additionally, responsibilities include overseeing the manufacturing of reconstructed environments for EDF and ensuring regulatory compliance in welding operations. In January 2024, Damien took on the role of Treasurer at AFPS, the organization in charge of the French Welding Championship. Previously, Damien held significant positions at SOCOTEC, where management of an agency and operational responsibilities were key, and at Groupe Institut de Soudure, focusing on regulatory inspections. An educational background includes an engineering degree in Nuclear Installations from École des Mines de Saint-Étienne, complemented by specialized training in welding technologies and materials sciences.
