Usama Farooq is a quantitative analyst at the Electricity Authority, a position held since August 2022. Previously, Usama served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Canterbury from October 2021 to July 2022 and worked as a climate scientist at Bodeker Scientific for a brief period in 2021. Usama's academic journey includes a doctoral researcher role and a teaching assistant position at the University of Canterbury between November 2016 and March 2021. Earlier experience includes managing scientific research at the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) from August 2009 to October 2016. Usama obtained a PhD in Antarctic Physics from the University of Canterbury, coupled with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Physics from Karachi University.
