Sam Thorne

Sam Thorne is an accomplished design leader with extensive experience in technology and user experience design. Currently serving as the Design Lead for Creative Technology at Electrolux Group since February 2021, Sam oversees a team that bridges design and engineering to enhance the integration of new technologies. Prior to this role, Sam held multiple design leadership positions at Spotify from May 2014 to February 2021, including leading the strategic vision for a prototyping toolkit and overseeing the Spotify experience on multiple TV platforms. Earlier experience includes significant roles at Sony, where Sam led cross-category design projects, and positions at Native Design Ltd, Philips Design, InteractiveLabs, and Empower New Media, demonstrating a strong foundation in interaction design and product development. Academic credentials include an MSc in Cognitive and Decision Science from UCL and a BA in Interaction Design from Ravensbourne University London.
