Samaresh Datta

Samaresh Datta has over 35 years of extensive experience in the IT sector, with a focus on business applications and ERP systems, particularly within the iron and steel industries. Currently serving as Senior General Manager of IT at Electrosteel Group since February 1997, Samaresh has led significant projects, including the successful implementation of SAP HANA and SAP ERP, the latter recognized as one of the best IT implementations of the year by PCQUEST in 2008. Previous roles include Senior Systems Analyst at Prakash Industries Limited, where Samaresh established the IT department and developed various applications, and Systems Analyst at BIHAR SPONGE IRON LTD, where plant maintenance applications were created. A solid educational foundation includes a Master of Computer Applications and an M.Phil in Computer Science, alongside an MBA in Finance.
