Lieze van Wyk

Lieze van Wyk is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Executive Assistant in the Legal department at Electrum since October 2025. Previously, Lieze worked at Von Seidels from January 2018 to October 2025 as a Patent Candidate Attorney, where responsibilities included patent drafting, prosecution, and conducting freedom-to-operate analyses. Lieze also gained experience as a Trainee Patent Attorney at Von Seidels, focusing on patentability searches and foreign patent office report responses while completing studies in law. Early experience includes roles as a Postgraduate Student and Laboratory Demonstrator at Stellenbosch University and a Research Assistant at North West University, where skills in laboratory assistance and DNA sequence analysis were developed. Lieze holds an LLB from the University of South Africa, a B.Sc. (Honours) in Microbiology from Stellenbosch University, and a B.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Microbiology and Biochemistry from North-West University.
