Guangtao Zhang has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on research and development, business development, and strategic partnerships. Their most recent role was as Vice President of the Global R&D Center at Fosun Pharma, where they oversaw the center's operations. Prior to that, they worked as the Deputy General Manager of the Strategic Product Development Center, CMC at Fosun Pharma. Before joining Fosun Pharma, Zhang held senior positions at Eleison Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Eleison Pharmaceuticals, where they played a crucial role in CMC, business development, and establishing strategic business partnerships in Asia. Guangtao also has experience in cGMP manufacturing and managing CRO and CDMO for drug release and stability studies. Zhang began their career at Provid Pharmaceuticals, where they served as the Director of Research and Principal Scientist.

Guangtao Zhang completed their Bachelor of Science in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from 1982 to 1986. Guangtao then pursued their MS and PhD at the University of Science and Technology of China between 1991 and 1996. Afterwards, Zhang was an Exchange Scholar at Iowa State University from 1997 to 1998. Guangtao furthered their education as a Postdoc at MIT, specializing in Chemistry from 1998 to 2000. Finally, Zhang served as a Research Associate at Harvard Medical School, specializing in biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology, from 2000 to 2002.
