Joel Meier

Joel Meier is an experienced project manager specializing in smart city initiatives at Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich (EKZ) since June 2020. In this role, Joel Meier focuses on creating sustainable and efficient urban environments by enhancing infrastructure such as environmental and traffic monitoring, charging infrastructure, lighting controls, and public Wi-Fi. Prior to EKZ, Joel Meier worked as a work student at Stadtwerk Winterthur, contributing to the development of e-Solardach products, and served as an energy and environmental engineer for Stadt Winterthur and Viridén Partner AG. Joel Meier began a career in engineering as a designer at Rieter, where work included CAD standards and training, after completing an apprenticeship as a designer. Joel Meier holds a Master of Science in Business Engineering and Production from ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Energy and Environmental Technology from ZHAW School of Engineering.
