Russ Levin

Russ Levin is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in microbial fermentation and upstream bio-process development. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist in Fermentation at Element Biosciences since February 2023, Russ previously held the position of Scientist I in Microbial Fermentation at Sanofi - Synthorx from July 2020 to May 2023. Prior roles include Associate Fermentation Scientist II and Associate Scientist I at BASF from September 2013 to April 2020, as well as a Research Associate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where responsibilities included designing and cloning plasmid vectors for reporter assays. Russ holds a Master of Arts in Biotechnology from Hunter College (2011-2013) and a Bachelor of Arts in Cell and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University (2006-2010).
