Semyon Kruglyak

Semyon Kruglyak has a strong background in informatics within the biosciences industry. Semyon started their career at Illumina in 2000, where they worked their way up to the role of Scientist-Sr Director before becoming a Distinguished Scientist in 2019. In 2020, they transitioned to Element Biosciences to assume the role of Head of Informatics, eventually being promoted to VP of Informatics in 2021.

Semyon Kruglyak holds a BA in mathematics from Cornell University, earned between 1990 and 1994. Semyon then obtained a PhD in Operations Research from the same institution between 1994 and 1998. Following this, they pursued a post-doc in Computational Biology at the University of Southern California from 1998 to 2000.
