Laura Klasek has a diverse range of work experience. Laura is currently working at Elemental Enzymes as the Global Regulatory Sciences Lead, a role they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Scientist I at Elemental Enzymes from June 2020 to January 2023. Before joining Elemental Enzymes, Laura was a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis from September 2014 to June 2020. Laura also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Hendrix College from September 2012 to May 2014, where they studied seed dispersal mechanisms of North American plants using living analogs. Additionally, Laura worked as an NSF REU Summer Intern at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Department of Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology in the summer of 2013. In this role, they gained valuable laboratory skills and assisted with various research tasks.
Laura Klasek attended Visitation Academy of Saint Louis from 2004 to 2010, where they completed their high school education. Following that, they enrolled at Hendrix College from 2010 to 2014 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and English (Creative Writing). Their focus of study shifted to Plant Molecular Biology when they joined the University of California, Davis from 2014 to 2020, though they did not complete a specific degree during this time.
