Kirsty Cleland

Kirsty Cleland has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kirsty is currently the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Elenium Automation, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, Kirsty served as the Executive General Manager at Imagine Intelligent Materials from November 2017 to January 2020.

Before joining Imagine Intelligent Materials, Kirsty had a tenure at Swinburne University of Technology. Kirsty held the role of Commercial Manager at the Swinburne Innovation Precinct from May 2016 to November 2017, and prior to that, they were a Senior Advisor to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (R&D) from April 2014 to April 2016.

Kirsty's earlier experiences include serving as the CEO of Advanced Polymerik from February 2008 to December 2013, and as the Commercial and Legal Manager at CRC for Polymers from December 2005 to December 2011. Kirsty also held the position of Director of Business Development at ANSTO from June 2003 to December 2005.

Kirsty began their career as an Associate at King & Wood Mallesons in December 1994 and later became a Senior Associate at Baker McKenzie from June 2000 to June 2003. Overall, Kirsty's work experience showcases their expertise in various managerial, legal, and commercial roles across different sectors.

Kirsty Cleland obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) degree from The Australian National University, attending from 1988 to 1993. Kirsty also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS Hons, Chemistry) degree from the same institution, studying there from 1988 to 1992. Kirsty later pursued a Certificate in Bioethics from the Medical College of Wisconsin, completing the program from 2001 to 2003. In 2014, they obtained a Graduate Australian Institute of Company Directors degree from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
