Yohanes Hugo

Yohanes Hugo serves as the Team Leader for Research and Development at Elestor B.V. since February 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing the development of Membrane Electrode Assemblies technology for mass production of flow batteries and managing multi-disciplinary projects. Prior to this role, Yohanes was a MEA scientist, focused on researching and optimizing Membrane Electrode Assemblies for hydrogen-bromine flow batteries, as well as a research intern, where the characterization and selection of proton conducting membranes were conducted. In addition, Yohanes completed an Industrial PhD at TU/e Eindhoven University of Technology, specializing in membrane development for hydrogen-bromine batteries. Early research experience includes studying the effects of silica nanoparticles in asymmetric mixed-matrix membranes for gas separation at the Down Stream Process Laboratory, ITB. Educational achievements include a PhD in Materials Science and two master's degrees in Biorefinery and Sustainable Energy Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology and Aalto University, along with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung.
