Venture Principal at Elevate Capital

Benjamin N.'s work experience starts in 2004 as a Graduate Student at the University of Florida, where they studied the synaptic properties of mossy cells. Benjamin then became a Postdoctoral Researcher at OHSU in 2010, focusing on increasing knowledge of healthy brain function and investigating synaptic connections between neurons. In 2012, Benjamin served as Secretary/Treasurer at Hysteresis until 2015. In 2016, they joined TiE Oregon as a Program Manager for TiE Oregon Angels, managing the entire deal flow process and curating investment opportunities. That same year, they also became a Program Manager for TiE Global Angels, focusing on bringing high-quality investment opportunities to the extended investor network. In 2018, Benjamin joined Elevate Capital Fund as a Senior Venture Associate, taking an active role in all aspects of the fund's operations. In 2020, they transitioned to the role of Venture Principal at the same company.

Benjamin N. holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematical Biology from Harvey Mudd College, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. Benjamin pursued further education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience at the University of Florida from 2004 to 2009. More recently, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance, General from Portland State University, completing this program from 2014 to 2016.
