Kun Zhu

Kun Zhu currently serves as the Director of Interconnection and Transmission at Elevate Renewables, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, Kun Zhu was the VP of Transmission and Interconnection at SunEnergy1 from January 2022 to October 2023, after previously holding the Director position in the same department. Kun Zhu’s extensive experience at Midcontinent Independent System Operator spanned from April 2003 to December 2021, where responsibilities included serving as Sr. Manager of Generator Interconnection and managing resource retirement and tariff scheduling. Kun Zhu began the career as an Engineer at the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute of China, focusing on power system stability studies. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a BS in Power System from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
