Matt Todd

VP, ElevateFlex at Elevate

Matt Todd is the current VP of ElevateFlex at Elevate, a position they have held since 2016. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director, Global Head of Legal Business Solutions at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2013 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for managing a significant global legal services spend and designing and building JPM's first centralized Outside Counsel and Engagement Management group.

Notable achievements during their time at JPMorgan Chase & Co. include designing, managing and executing multiyear global legal services RFPs for 550-plus law firms leading to year-on-year, multi-million dollar cost avoidance and convergence of sourced firms; managing a legal expense reduction initiative which focused on many of the world's leading law firms, supplying strategy, information and analysis to the General Counsel and senior legal management; restructuring and negotiating legacy AFAs for critical high-spend matters, involving engaging "traditional" billable-hour only law firms in budgeting and fee negotiation resulting in multi-million savings/cost avoidance; restructuring the high-volume national mortgage defense litigation portfolio into regional panels, narrowing the use of firms from hundreds to 5 per region; designing a new Global Relationship Management program; providing advice and escalation of third party oversight, relationship and IT risk/security issues; and "unbundling" key engagements to utilize alternative legal providers alongside major law firms.

Matt Todd has a Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Bristol and an LLB (Hons) in Law from the same school.

They work with Sharath Beedu - VP, Products, Nancy Fraser Michalski - VP, Med Legal Services, and Tariq Hassan - VP, Procurement Services. Matt Todd reports to Liam Brown, Chairman & CEO.
