Joey Carson has had a diverse and extensive work experience, spanning across various industries. Joey started their career at Sony Pictures Entertainment as a Senior Financial Analyst, where they served as a production accountant and financial liaison between shows and the corporate finance team. After that, Joey joined 20th Television as Vice President, overseeing television production and managing a team of over 300 employees. Joey successfully negotiated and managed production deals and implemented new financial and risk management strategies.
Joey then moved on to become the CEO and COO of Bunim Murray Productions, where they led the company to significant growth and expanded distribution partnerships. During their tenure, they executive produced a feature documentary film and a daytime reality syndication show, both of which received critical acclaim and awards.
In 2007, Joey co-founded Hollywood Interactive Group, an online interactive game development company, where they developed business plans, raised funding, and managed the agile development process. Joey also negotiated strategic advertising and brand integration deals.
Joey's entrepreneurial pursuits continued with the establishment of Ex Nihilo, Inc., a startup independent television and digital media production company. Joey grew the company to $5 million in annual revenue within the first year and oversaw the development and production of television projects.
Furthermore, Joey served as the President of Ghost Mountain Production and Stage 29 Media Ventures, leading independent television production and media venture companies. Joey created unscripted television production entities, sold shows to networks, and had full P&L responsibility for operations, marketing, and digital content.
Joey also founded Sponsor Media Group, a self-funded pre-revenue startup venture that developed an iOS app and digital platform to support people in recovery. Joey oversaw all aspects of UX/UI design, product development, and agile software development. Additionally, they formed partnerships with organizations such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
In recent years, Joey has held advisory positions at Kast Media and RedShift Advisors, where they provide strategic guidance and expertise.
Joey's most recent role is at Elevator Studio, where they serve as the CEO and President. Joey has successfully increased gross income by 30% in the first year, expanded the agency to include Fortune 500 brand clients, and developed and manages Elevator Syndicate and Elevator Rolling Fund in partnership with Angelist.
Joey Carson attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi from 1985 to 1989, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance.
