Shane Kavanagh has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Shane started their career at Glanbia, where they worked as a Sales and Machine Operator, gaining experience in customer service and agricultural operations. Shane then moved on to Bord Gáis Energy, where they worked as an Energy Engineer, leading project teams and delivering research projects in the Environmental and Planning Department.

Following this, they joined Coolmore Stud, the largest racehorse breeding operation in the world, as Stallion Administration. In this role, they managed a busy "teasing shed," overseeing documentation management and ensuring excellent customer service for clients visiting Coolmore.

Shane then transitioned to GridBeyond, where they held various roles. As a Senior Energy Engineer - Trading and Optimization, they were responsible for customer propositions, energy consultancy, and new product development. Shane also led the setup of trading functions in the UK and Ireland and managed large-scale battery storage projects. Additionally, they handled 98MW of Demand Side Response and built commercial valuation tools for trading Generation, CHP, DSR, and battery flexibility. Shane later served as an Energy Engineer and Project Manager, conducting energy analysis, investigating new energy management opportunities, and project managing Demand Side Units.

After GridBeyond, Shane joined ElectroRoute as an Originator, involved in trading solutions and later transitioned to the role of Trading Solutions Analyst. Shane facilitated trading activities and provided analytical support.

Their most recent position is with Elgin Energy, where they currently work as the Head of Commercial Operations - ETOS, overseeing commercial operations.

Shane Kavanagh obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Energy from the University of Limerick, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering in Energy Systems at University College Dublin, specializing in Energy Engineering, from 2014 to 2016. In April 2020, they received the certification in Optimum Nutrition for Health and Performance from Glanbia. Additionally, in March 2020, they obtained a Mini MBA certification from the Irish Management Institute.
