Esau Gaona

Esau Gaona currently serves as a Professor of Mathematics at Austin Community College, having taken this role in June 2023 and focusing on delivering engaging and innovative mathematics coursework while promoting diversity and culturally responsive teaching. Esau has also been a Mathematics Teacher at Elgin ISD since August 2018, specializing in teaching algebra 2 to high school students and collaborating in professional learning communities to enhance instructional strategies for students struggling in math. Previous experience includes working as a Mathematics Teacher at Epic Pediatric Therapy and a Mathematics Tutor at Austin Community College. Esau holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
