Bilyana Georgieva

Bilyana Georgieva currently serves as Sr. Director Patent Counsel at Eli Lilly and Company since November 2023. Previously, Bilyana held the position of Director of Intellectual Property at 10x Genomics from June 2022 to August 2023, overseeing a global patent portfolio and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Prior to that, Bilyana was the Director of Intellectual Property at The Duke Human Vaccine Institute from September 2013 to June 2022, where a comprehensive patent strategy was executed for research funded over $100 million. Bilyana's earlier experience includes working as a Patent Attorney at WilmerHale from August 2005 to June 2013 and as a Technology Specialist/Patent Agent at Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP from May 2004 to July 2005. Bilyana holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Genetics and Development from Columbia University.
