Joe Basconi is currently the Associate Director of Technical Services/Manufacturing Science at Eli Lilly and Company, leading the Peptide Purification team for a new manufacturing facility. Prior to this role, Joe was a Process Development Senior Principal Scientist at Amgen, where they directed the development and commercialization of a high-volume recombinant protein manufacturing process. Joe also served as a Senior Scientist and Scientist at Amgen, focusing on drug substance processes and purification techniques. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a Chemical Engineering certificate from University College Dublin, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
