Ruben Martinez

Ruben Martinez is currently the Director of Oligonucleotide Discovery Chemistry at Lilly Genetic Medicines. They previously held positions as a Senior Advisor in Oligonucleotide Chemistry and Senior Research Scientist at Eli Lilly and Company from 2018 to 2021, as well as a Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry. Ruben completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute, where their work focused on total synthesis and synthetic methodology. Prior to their doctoral studies, they gained experience as a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate at Gilead Sciences, contributing to drug development across multiple therapeutic areas. In addition, Ruben holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis.
