Michiel Uwaerts

Michiel Uwaerts is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in management and innovation within the energy sector. Currently serving as the Manager of Transformation Portfolio for Customers, Markets & Systems at Elia since September 2012, Michiel has played a key role as Program Manager for Asset Innovation Implementation, focusing on the integration of new technologies and process improvements in asset management. Prior to this role, Michiel was with the Umicore Solar Team from May 2010 to August 2012, initially as Head of Marketing - Business Relations, overseeing non-technical functions with an emphasis on business relations and finance. Academic credentials include a Certificate in Digital Business Transformation and a Leadership Transition Program from Vlerick Business School, as well as a Master's in Business/Managerial Economics from KU Leuven and a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering.
