Gerald van Smeerdyk

Gerald Van Smeerdyk serves as Campus Pastor at Elim Village since July 2021, providing Christian services and pastoral care to long-term care residents. Previously, Gerald held various positions within the Canadian Armed Forces from February 2008 to June 2021, including Military Chaplain and Chapel Life Coordinator at CFB Uplands in Ottawa, and Unit Chaplain roles in Edmonton. Prior to military service, Gerald pastored at Emo Christian Reformed Church from September 1995 to September 2001 and at Bethel Christian Reformed Church from September 2001 to February 2008. Educational credentials include a Master of Divinity from Calvin Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Calvin University.
