A stepping stone to a better life for disabled people and carers…
 
In 2001 there was nothing out there to support the needs of disabled people and their carers, who were accessing Self Directed Support and for this reason we decided that we should set up a true User Led Organisation. After all, we are the “Experts by Experience”.
 
In 2008 E.L.I.T.E became a Community Interest Company (not for profit organisation). We received funding to hold Peer Support groups in every district in Staffordshire. We work in partnership with similar organisations, sharing resources and providing a better service for the people that count…YOU.
 
Today we still offer information and advice surrounding Direct Payments and Personal Budgets and provide activities in our local communities. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live full and independent lives… We believe that we have the tools to allow all Service Users and Carers live the life they want to.
