Matthew Shaw has a diverse work experience in the hospitality industry. Matthew is currently the Managing Director at Elite Bistros since October 2022. Prior to this, they were the Training & Compliance Manager at Elite Bistros from February 2022 to November 2022.
From 2018 to 2022, Matthew worked at The Trafford College Group as the Head of Studies for Hair, Beauty & Hospitality at Trafford & Stockport College. Matthew achieved Center of Excellence status for two disciplines and guided the department to highly commended status by the AA and Gold Accreditation by People 1st. Matthew also led the college's students to the finals of AA College Restaurant of the Year twice.
Before that, Matthew worked at Trafford College from 2012 to 2022, where they held multiple roles including Curriculum Leader for Hospitality and Chef/Lecturer. Matthew contributed to the department's success by delivering a range of study programs and qualifications.
Matthew's earlier experience includes being a part owner of three restaurants in the South Manchester area called The Fat Loaf from 2007 to 2011. Matthew was responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and profitability of the restaurants.
Matthew also worked as the Head Chef at Room Restaurant from 2006 to 2007, where they managed a team of eleven chefs and consistently produced award-winning food.
Matthew's career began as a Junior Sous Chef at The Lowry Hotel from 2001 to 2003, where they worked under the name of Marco Pierre White. Matthew had autonomy on all sections of the kitchen and ensured high standards and food safety.
In 1999, Matthew worked as a Senior Chef de Partie at Le Petit Blanc.
Matthew Shaw attended Latimer Comprehensive School from 1992 to 1997. Matthew did not pursue a degree or specify a field of study during this time. Later, they went on to study at The University of Huddersfield from 2014 to 2016, where they earned a Cert Ed in Education.
