The new Materials and Resources credits in LEED v4 emphasize transparency and optimization, and provide incentives for project teams to specify products with transparency documentation of material ingredients and life cycle impacts. Several top design firms in the U.S. have already issued statements to manufacturers that they will no longer even consider specifying products without qualifying transparency documentation, including Health Product Declarations (HPD) and Manufacturer Inventories (MI).
