Shaygan Kheradpir

Dr. Kheradpir is the Chief Technology Officer of CTAC and serves as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Advisory Board. Dr. Kheradpir is best known for driving transformational change through technology innovation, most recently at Coriant as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman from 2015 through 2018. Prior to this role, Dr. Kheradpir served as Chief Operating Officer of Juniper Networks in 2014, and as Group Chief Operating Officer and member of the Global Executive Committee at Barclays Bank from 2011 to 2013. He previously served as Verizon’s Group Chief Information Officer from 2000 to 2010, where he was a member of the founding Executive Leadership Committee. Dr. Kheradpir continues to work with high-tech start-ups in Silicon Valley, leading private equity firms, and national governments on 5G networks, next-generation applications for the industrial internet, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.

While serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coriant, Dr. Kheradpir propelled the company to become the leading insurgent telecom equipment company worldwide across high-speed packet-optical and 5G networks. Dr. Kheradpir’s extensive accomplishments throughout his career also include elevating Juniper Networks to become a premier “cloud builder” and creator of “high IQ networks” via cutting-edge networking technology, automation, and machine learning; helping to set the course for 21st Century industrialization while at Barclays; and aiding in Verizon’s transformation from a phone company to a premier telecom company worldwide in super high-speed networks such as FiOS and 4G-LTE.

Dr. Kheradpir received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Cornell University. Dr. Kheradpir is on the Board of the MTN Group, is a member of the Cornell University Engineering Council, and served on the Advisory Board of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Kheradpir was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2006 and selected in 1990 as an outstanding young engineer by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
