Amari Watkins

Amari Watkins serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Elk Grove Unified School District since June 2023, bringing extensive experience in educational financial management. Previously, Watkins held the position of Associate Superintendent of Business Services at Davis Joint Unified School District from August 2020 to June 2023. From January 2005 to August 2020, Watkins worked at Sacramento City Unified School District, progressing from Director of Accounting Services to Internal Auditor/Charter Oversight Manager. Earlier career experience includes serving as an Auditor Evaluator for the California State Auditor from August 1998 to January 2005. Amari Watkins earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the UW Foster School of Business between 1996 and 1998.
