Bernd Friede

Bernd Friede is a highly experienced professional in product stewardship and international regulatory affairs, currently serving as a Product Stewardship Manager at Elkem ASA since June 2015. With prior roles at Elkem Silicon Materials, including Corporate REACH Compliance Manager and HSE Project Manager, Bernd has extensive expertise in regulatory compliance frameworks such as REACH, GHS/CLP, and RoHS. Bernd has represented Elkem in various committees and industry associations, actively participating in the ISO silica working group and leading the silica fume working group. Previously, as Global Lab Coordinator at Elkem Materials, responsibilities included coordinating lab activities across international locations and managing a team of 13 employees. Additionally, Bernd's academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in inorganic solid state chemistry, obtained from The University of Bonn.
