Binayak Das

Binayak Das has extensive work experience in the sales and marketing field. Binayak began their career as a Senior Marketing Executive at Roto Pumps Limited in 1997 and held this role until 2001. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as a Sales Engineer at Henkel Loctite India Pvt. Limited.

In 2003, Binayak joined Shell Gas (LPG) India Pvt. Limited as an Executive in Application Development before moving to Ge Bayer Silicones India Private Limited in 2004. At Ge Bayer, they served as an Area Sales Manager and later as a Sales Manager for the Western Region.

From 2007 to 2012, Binayak worked at Momentive, where they held various roles including Regional Sales Manager, Sales Leader, and Commercial Leader for Elastomers. During this time, they achieved significant growth in the Elastomer business unit, capturing a 32% market share and increasing revenues and volumes by 3 times.

In 2013, Binayak joined Elkem ASA as the GM of Silicones and Polymer Additive for India and South Asia. Binayak later became the GM of Silicones for India and South Asia and the General Manager of the India Silicone Plant within the same company. Under their leadership, Elkem experienced substantial growth, with the top-line increasing 40-fold to reach INR 240 Crores. Binayak also played a crucial role in doubling the topline to USD 80 Million within a span of two years in the Silicon Products Business Unit.

Binayak Das has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from BIT Sindri. Binayak also holds a PGDBM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) with a specialization in Marketing Management from ICFAI University. In terms of secondary education, Binayak completed their 10+2 from St. Michael's High School in India. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Leadership from Elkem ASA, Organizational Excellence from Elkem Business System (EBS University Norway), and Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from GE Bayer Silicones.
