John Garris

John Garris possesses extensive experience in the chemical and materials industry, currently serving as a Tech Service Representative at Elkem Silicones since August 2013. Prior to this, Garris held the position of Sr. Research Chemist at Osmose, where biocidal formulations for wood preservation and improved wood performance were developed. As a Senior Development Chemist & Project Leader at Siovation, significant contributions were made in the strategic development of silicone-based antifoams and emulsions for various industrial applications. At BioLab, a Chemtura Company, Garris worked as a Scientist and later as a Senior Development Chemist, focusing on the development and management of consumer products for recreational water treatment from initial concept to finalization. Educational background includes a degree from the University of South Alabama, earned between 1986 and 1992.
