Michael Gottfried is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring. Currently serving as a Partner and head of the bankruptcy/restructuring group at Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP since January 2020, Michael has also held a similar position at Landau Gottfried & Berger LLP from April 2007 to January 2020, representing debtors, trustees, creditors' committees, and asset purchasers in Chapter 11 cases. Prior to these roles, Michael was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 2001 to March 2008. Michael holds a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and a Master of Library Science degree from Columbia University.
