Omar Hakim, P.E.

Omar Hakim, P.E. has over 18 years of experience in the technology and entrepreneurship space. In 2009, they began working as a Reviewer for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. In 2010, they co-founded the Aggie Angel Network and served as its first full time Executive Director until 2013. In 2011, they began working as the Director and CEO of Oui Agree. In 2014, they became the Director and CEO of Aquadation LLC. In 2017, they began working as a Mentor and Advisor for the Texas Health Catalyst at UT Austin Dell Medical School and as the VP of Client Strategy for Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. In 2018, they became a Full Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University, teaching technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. Omar also served as an Entrepreneur In Residence for the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX). In 2021, they began working as the Chief Executive Officer of EllansaLabs.

Omar Hakim obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics (Minor in Electrical Engineering) from The University of New Mexico in 1990. In 2003, they earned a Master's Degree in Technology Commercialization from The University of Texas at Austin. In November 2020, they obtained the Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
